Pahor as keynote speaker at the 20th Salzburg Europe Summit

Nekdanjega predsednika republike Boruta Pahorja je pred začetkom konference ‘20. Salzburg Europe Summit’, na uradni večerji sprejel župan Salzburga Bernhard Auinger. Bivši predsednik republike se je kot častni gost in osrednji govornik udeležil konference, ki letos nosi naslov: “No future without reforms”. Uvodoma sta zbrane pozdravila župan Salzburga in direktor Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) Franz Schausberger. V pogovoru Europa Gespräch/Europe Talk, v katerem je nastopil Pahor, je bilo najprej postavljeno vprašanje o Ukrajini, nadalje pa je bilo govora o širitvi EU in vprašanju kaj je šlo narobe, da države regije Zahodnega Balkana še niso članice EU?

Before the start of the 20th Salzburg Europe Summit, former President Borut Pahor was welcomed at an official dinner by the mayor of Salzburg, Bernhard Auinger. As an honored guest and keynote speaker, Pahor participated in the conference under the theme “No Future Without Reforms.” The event was opened with welcoming remarks by mayor Auinger and Franz Schausberger, director of the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE). During the Europa Gespräch/Europe Talk, in which Pahor took part, the first question was focused on Ukraine, and it was followed by discussions on EU enlargement and a critical reflection on why the Western Balkan countries have not yet joined the EU.
