New York UN High-Level Meeting - Navigating Migration: Addressing Displacement in times of multiple crises

Bivši predsednik republike Borut Pahor danes v New Yorku v okviru XXX. High Level Meeting nastopa v razpravi “Navigating Migration: Addressing Displacement in times of multiple crises”. Prva je govorila Theresa May, nekdanja britanska premierka.

Today in New York, former President Borut Pahor is participating in the XXX High-Level Meeting, taking part in the discussion “Navigating Migration: Addressing Displacement in Times of Multiple Crises.” The debate opened with a speech by former UK Prime Minister Theresa May. In his address on migration, Pahor called for a more effective and convincing approach to tackling this global challenge. He emphasized the need for a much clearer distinction between legal and illegal migration. While advocating for a more understanding and structured regulation of legal migration, he stressed the importance of stricter measures to prevent illegal migration. According to Pahor, only a clear differentiation between legal and illegal migration can help build the necessary political consensus to address the complex challenges of modern migration effectively.

Before the start of the discussion Pahor met with several distinguished colleagues and friends. Among them were former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, former UK Prime Minister Theresa May, former Secretary-General of the Arab League Amre Moussa, former EU Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner, former Serbian President Boris Tadić, former Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, and former U.S. diplomat Susan Elliott.
